A LITERARY PRODIGY

It is a matter of immense pride that Vishesh Gupta, a student of Class VII A, is emerging as a promising young author, having already published two books. A voracious reader, Vishesh’s passion for reading began at the tender age of four.
His first book, Epic Escapades—a collection of short stories—was published when he was just 8 years old. Now, with the release of his second edition, he has added more exciting and intriguing short stories to his collection. Readers will be captivated by the depth of his storytelling and the fantastic illustrations that accompany his work.
We extend our heartiest congratulations to Vishesh on the publication of his second book and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors!

YOUNG INTACH BEST HERITAGE CLUB AWARD 2023-24

It is a matter of immense pride that Delhi Public School,Dwarka received Third Position in the Young INTACH Best Heritage Club Award for the academic year 2023-2024.
This nationwide competition is organized by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving India's heritage. The assessment was done on the basis of the year long work done by the students of DPS Dwarka. A detailed report highlighting the activities undertaken by the members of the club towards conservation and preservation of our rich culture and heritage was submitted for the competition.
Two students of the school were recognised for their individual contributions. They received the Young INTACH Best Heritage Club Student Award for the session 2023-2024. The school was presented a trophy, a certificate, Heritage Calendar, and cash prize of Rs. 2,000.  In addition, the two meritorious students, Alabhya and Avnita Deepak of Class XII were presented certificates and Heritage magazines.

HUMANISTIC DESIGN SUMMIT 2024

Day/Date: Monday, 03 June 2024

The final round of Humanistic Design Summit 2024 was organised by BML Munjal University on 03 June 2024. Six teams were shortlisted for the final round out of seventeen teams which participated in the first round of the summit.

The top six finalists were DPS Dwarka, DPS Vasant Kunj, DPS RK Puram, DPS Knowledge Park-V, Blue Bells Model, and Nirmal Bhartiya. These schools passionately engaged with topics such as Rethinking Fast Fashion, Public Health: Access and Quality, Agrarian Distress and Rethinking the Foundation of Society, and Rethinking Fast-Paced Life and Tackling Depression.

The main objective of the summit was to bring design into dialogue with ethics and natural intelligence.

The topic of presentation of our team was Public Health: Access and Quality. Our team members Atharv Saxena XIIC , Tasia Anand XII D, Ashni Ahlawat XI B, Udayan Gera X G and Saumya Bora IX F under the guidance of their teacher Ms. Puja Sehgal, gave an impressive presentation which included well studied data collected on the basis of a large scale survey.

DPS Dwarka emerged as the winner of the summit, with DPS Vasant Kunj as the First runner-up and DPS RK Puram as the Second runner-up.

It was a matter of immense pride as the team basked in the moment of glory holding the trophy up to the crowd along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/.

MUKHYAMANTRI VIGYAN PRATIBHA PARIKSHA (MVPP)

It is a matter of immense pride for DPS Dwarka that 15 students of Class IX have qualified the Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha (MVPP), formerly known as JSTSE which was held on 10 December 2023. It is a scholarship exam conducted each year by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education in Delhi.

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE LITERATURE AND CULTURE COMPETITION

It is a matter of immense pride that Karandeep Singh of VIII-B has bagged the third position in the National Essay Writing Competition Organised by the Russian Cultural Embassy New Delhi, held on 8 of February 2023. The topic for the competition was ‘A Teacher in my Life’ wherein schools from every corner of India participated. His work was cherished and appreciated by all. He was awarded with a trophy at The Russian House in New Delhi.

NATIONAL ART SKILL OLYMPIAD COMPETITION

DPS Dwarka is proud to share that Pritika Jayaswal of class VII-F won the second prize in the National Art Skill Olympiad competition in 2023 held on 25 August 2023. The theme of the Olympiad was 'Traditional Art Forms of India'.

Under the given theme students had to present their creative work with inventiveness. Priyanka Jayaswal, displayed several traditional art forms from different states of India while creating acrylic painting on pieces of stones and pebbles. Her creative art pieces were appreciated and applauded by all.

    Event Overview:
    EKJUT’ 24 a sports meet for students with special needs was held on Thursday,25 January 2024 at DPS Rohini in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat . The event aimed to promote inclusivity and sportsmanship among children with diverse abilities.
    DPS Dwarka's Participation:
    DPS Dwarka participated enthusiastically in EKJUT -a purple initiative. Three students from senior wing and two students from primary wing with diverse abilities, took part in competitive sports events.
    Achievements:
    Out of 20 participating schools of Delhi NCR, students of DPS Dwarka excelled and secured four notable positions in the competition:
    Aliya (class VI): 50 m Race- First Position
    Aarav Mishra (class VIII): Standing long Jump- Third Position
    Prakash Meghwal (class IX): tennis ball throw-First Position
    Yedant Sharma (class IV)10mAssisted walk-First Position
    These achievements underscore the talent, determination, and hard work of DPS Dwarka's special needs students. Their success in the sports meet is a testament to the school's efforts in providing equal opportunities and creating an environment where every student can thrive and showcase their skills.

ARYABHATA GANIT CHALLENGE (2023- 2024)

He has been ranked in top 100 students selected in Delhi Region


    NATIONAL DRAWING COMPETITION ORGANISED BY BAL EDUCATION TRUST

    Vanya Gupta of class 8 was rated as outstanding performer during this competition which is a remarkable accomplishment, and brought immense pride to the school by obtaining All India Rank (AIR) 1 in this competition. She is awarded with both Appreciation and Participation certificate for her extraordinary achievement.

    Gyana Kumar of class 3E has bagged First Prize in Semi-Classical Dance in Bal Kala Utsav, organized by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Vishwa Yuva Kendra, Chanakya Puri on 04 November 2023.

    Greesha Kumar of class 3A won a Special Prize in Light Music in Bal Kala Utsav 2023, organized by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Vishwa Yuva Kendra, Chanakya Puri on 04 November 2023.

CBSE HERITAGE INDIA QUIZ 2023-2024

Students of DPS Dwarka participated in the CBSE Heritage India Quiz-2023 held on Friday, 17 November 2023.
Our students qualified Stage 1 of the CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2023-24. The team was selected in the top 30 from Delhi East region.
The three participants logged into the portal and downloaded the quiz sheet. They then attempted all the questions and uploaded the sheet on the portal within 50 minutes. The total time allocated for completing and uploading the sheet was 60 minutes.
There were multiple choice questions based on India's heritage. In all it was an enriching experience for our students.

REPORT ON HT PACE: G – 20 QUIZ

As a culmination to the year long celebration of India’s Presidency of the G-20, Hindustan Times conducted the ‘HT PACE G – 20 Quiz’ for students from various schools across the country.
Two students of Delhi Public School, Dwarka:

  2. Miss Ashni  Ahlawat (X B) did the school proud by bagging the 2nd position.

The quiz was conducted at three levels.
The Preliminary roundAn online event, which was held on Tuesday 10th October 2023 at Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector – 18, Dwarka. Teams from six zones participated in this round.
The Semi-final round- An offline event, held on Friday, 13th October 2023 at Indraprastha International School, Sector-10, Dwarka. 18 teams qualified for this round.
The Final round-  An offline event, held on Friday, 13th October 2023. 5 teams were in the final round and DPS Dwarka secured the 2nd position.

Ayaansh Gupta of class Pre- School G has created an India Level Record titled, 'Maximum Mythological Questions Answered by a Kid' under India Book of Records 2024. He answered 153 mythological questions in 20 minutes, 5 seconds and 44 milli-seconds, at the age of 3 years, 7 months and 11 days, as confirmed on July 25, 2023.

Suravi Setia of class II H has won First prize at the Delhi State Level, in the prestigious Hindustan Olympiad Examination held on 28 April 2023. She received a trophy, a cash scholarship of Rs. 5100/- and a merit certificate.

 

ESYA – ANNUAL TECHNICAL FEST

Senior Robodex Team of DPS Dwarka comprising Raghav Grover (XII-D), Suyash Chauhan (XII-E), Raghav Bansal (XI-D, Jai Nanda (XI-D) took part in Robosoccer Event of ESYA – Annual Technical Fest hosted by IIIT Delhi on 26 & 27 August 2023. It was a two days extravaganza that showcased latest advancement in technology and provided a platform for innovation.

Our school team secured the Second position, defeating University/College level teams like IIT Delhi, MAIT, NSUT etc.

The team has been awarded e-certificates for its achievement and a cash prize of `8000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand only) 

TIMES NIE SUMMER PROGRAMME 2023

Tasia Anand of Class XI of DPS Dwarka was selected for the prestigious Times NIE Summer Programme 2023, to understand the nuances of journalism. She got an opportunity to work with the TOI Editorial Team from 24 to 29 May 2023. There were numerous activities on writing and presentation of articles and stories. Ms Poonam Singh, a member of the Student- edition Editorial Team, gave the participants pointers on the various qualities that a journalist should have. Another session by the Assistant Editor, Ms Pratigyan Das was taken where she elaborated upon the art of taking interviews. The interns were familiarized with many other facets of work that fall under the umbrella of journalism. They were briefed about the nitty-gritty of reporting, interviewing editing and photography of a news piece. The interns also had a wonderful experience at the Radio Mirchi office where they met RJ Sayema. The training programme was indeed a unique and enriching experience.

Parth Tomar (Class X), Srijan Maiti (Class X) and Meher Gera (Class IX) have been ranked in top 100 selected in Delhi Region.

 
 

CBSE HERITAGE INDIA QUIZ 2022

Students of DPS Dwarka Qualified Stage 1 of the CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2022-23. Our school Team was in the top 30 who were selected for the Stage 2.

The Stage 2 Regional round was organised on 19 December 2022 at Indraprastha International School,Sector 10,Dwarka. Six schools out of 30 qualified the Written Qualifying Round and participated in the On-Stage Round. It is a matter of immense pride that our team comprising Vidyarth Tiwari XII E, Ayush Bhardwaj XII H and Avani Tanwar XII G were in the Top Six selected for the Final Onstage Round. It was a great learning experience for the students.

 
 

CHILDREN SCIENCE CONGRESS

It is a matter of immense pride that DPS Dwarka team has successfully qualified the District level Children Science Congress for Delhi state conducted on 31 October 2022 via the virtual mode. Students from around 200 Delhi schools participated in this mega event. 58 projects have been screened for participation at the State level. Students were required to present a proposal/ project which would help in solving a societal problem experienced locally using a scientific method.

Our school team represented by Ridhima Joshi and Anika Kohli of class XI have been selected for the State level.  They had presented a project on ‘Electric Vehicles and Battery Recycling’. Through this project they highlighted the need to protect and safeguard the environment by using eco-friendly electric vehicles. They will now be competing with 57 other teams at the State level on Monday,  28 November 2022.

WORLD BOOK OF RECORDS (YOUNGEST RETRO FEMALE PIANIST)

 
It is a matter of immense pride that Ammie Arora of class VIII -C has been awarded by the World Book of Records for being the youngest Retro Female Pianist . She played 51 retro songs in Hindi, English, Spanish and Portuguese in a span of 3 hours 18 minutes 32 seconds. She was awarded by the renowned playback singer Udit Narayan, bollywood lyricist Sameer and the music director Usman Khan in a special ceremony organised on 18 September 2021.

  • Ammie Arora of class VII-C won the award for ‘Longest duration to Play Songs on Acoustic Piano’ by India Book of Records on 01 November, 2020. She played ninety songs for ten hours nonstop without any notes. 
  • Neel Lodha of class XII has qualified the International Olympiad in Informatics Training Camp, 2021 (IOITC-2021) and will represent the Indian team for the International Olympiad in Informatics, 2021 (IOI-2021).                                                     
  • Samridhi Arora of class XII-A has qualified the prestigious KVPY Scholarship 2020 in the SX Category with AIR 809. She has also cleared NSEB with AIR 54.
  • Riya Mittal of class XII-B qualified the KVPY Scholarship 2020 in the SX Category.
  • Taniha Bhutani of class XI-D is the proud recipient of the KVPY Scholarship 2020 in the SA Category.
  • Shiv Narayan of class XII-C has successfully qualified the KYPY Exam in the SX Category with All India Rank 116. He has also scored a percentile of 99.88 in the JEE Mains Exam.
  • 8 students of DPS Dwarka have qualified the prestigious JSTSE Scholarship 2020-21. Aanvi Jha has secured Rank 6 with 92%. Other recipients of this scholarship are Jiya Shah, Parth Khurana, Medha Kohli, Adya Gulati, Anika Butail, Rohit Kumar and Satvik Upadhyay.
  • Hitarth Khurana of XII-D qualified the Panini Linguistics Olympiad 2021 and was selected in the Indian team to participate in the Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad held on 28 March, 2021.
  • Gunbir Singh Baveja of DPS Dwarka is the recipient of a Grand Award for his project in the category of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the Initiative for Research and Innovation in STEM (IRIS) National Fair 202021 held virtually from January 20‐24, 2021. Courtesy winning this Grand Award, he was chosen as a Finalist to participate in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, 2021 held virtually in May, 2021.
  • Painting of our student Ayush Dash of Classes XII-G was printed in the Hindustan Times as a part of the competition ‘Artists paint away Covid blues’. He chose to honour the armed forces in ink, as soldiers are valiant people who always stay awake, on guard, and are ever ready to risk their lives for us. It’s due to them that we sleep peacefully in our beds at night.
    • FIC Research Fellowship Programme is organised by SRCC from 28 June, 2021. 6 students of our school have been shortlisted to participate in this
      15 day programme where they will be exploring finance, behavioral economics and stock markets under industry experts, with 80 other nationwide students. 
  • Aadi Goel of class IV F participated in CBSE Expression Series 2020. He has received a Participation Certificate for the same. 
  • Aryaman Divakaran of class V C has been awarded by the technical council of SWDKA as a Brown 3rd Belt held at South West Delhi Kickboxing Association. He also secured 2nd position in DSKA-Delhi Sports Karate-Do Association.
  • Aryaman Divakaran also won Gold Medal in point fight category organized by XVII Wako Delhi State Kickboxing Championship.

It is matter of immense pride that Raghav Puri, a Class XII student of DPS Dwarka, was awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Shakti Puraskar 2020 by the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind and was also felicitated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. He was awarded in the field of innovation for his project 'Recovering History'.

He has made incredible technological interventions through the project ‘Recovering History’ which uses Artificial Intelligence to reconstruct broken parts of artifacts and manuscripts for better study of history and culture. He represented India with this project at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) held at Arizona. This is the world’s biggest science fair with participants from more than 70 countries. This project was also recognized as a Finalist at the Genius Olympiad 2019 and at IEEE Youth Endeavours for Social Innovation using Sustainable Technology (YESIST) 2019.

 



 

 

 

 

 

Our school team comprising Anubhav Baweja, Sidhant Bansal and Rajat De initially participated in the Regional round of the CSI Young Talent Search in Computer Programming held in New Delhi on 26 July 2015. They qualified for the National round conducted by CSI held at Chennai on 30 August 2015. DPS Dwarka won Second position and was selected to represent India. Five teams from various countries were selected for the Final round held at Colombo wherein our team was adjudged the winner.

He has also been felicitated with the ‘Tata Institute for Fundamental Research & Infosys Award 2015’ for his research paper by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai.

Aryan also won his FIRST GRAND MASTER NORM at Latvia Open in Riga, Latvia in August 2015 giving a stupendous performance rating of 2647. Also, Aryan played against 6 strong GMs and remained unbeaten throughout. He was seeded 56th but got 6th rank in the tournament, the only untitled player in the top 50 players of the tournament.

Aryan is the YOUNGEST INTERNATIONAL MASTER IN INDIA at present and the only IM in his age group.
