Event Overview:
The Meraki Inter-School Performing Arts and Cultural Festival for students with special needs was held on 12th December 2024 at DPS Vasant Kunj. It was indeed a heartwarming and vibrant event celebrating the talents and creativity of differently-abled students.

DPS Dwarka's Participation:
DPS Dwarka participated enthusiastically in Meraki, with a special focus on the inclusion of students with special needs. Aliya of Class 7E represented the school in NUPUR-  a freestyle dance competition. Participantsof all schools showcased their talents through adaptive choreography tailored to their abilities. The vibrant costumes and enthusiastic energy captivated the audience.

Achievements:
Among  participants from various schools, DPS Dwarka students excelled and secured notable positions in the competition. The specific achievement is as follows:

Aliya (Class VII): 1st position in NUPUR - Freestyle Dance Competition

This achievement underscores the talent, determination, and hard work of DPS Dwarka's special needs students. Their success in the competition reflects the school's dedication to providing equal opportunities and creating an environment where every student can thrive and showcase their skills.

USE OF MOBILE PHONE IS MAKING US UN-SOCIAL

An Inter-House Extempore competition was organised by Jhelum house for classes IX & XI on Monday, 28 October 2024. The event aimed to encourage students to think critically, express themselves confidently and improve their public speaking skills.

The topic sparked a lively discussion, pushing participants to explore the impact of mobile phones on social behaviour, relationships and overall human connection. Participants expressed diverse perspectives, presenting both the benefits and drawbacks of using mobile phone.

Each participant had three minutes to present their views. Judging criteria included content, clarity, delivery, creativity, fluency and grammar. The competition was judged by Ms. Shalini Arora, an English teacher from DPS Dwarka. She praised the participants for their insightful perspectives, logical arguments and effective communication skills.

The winners for the event are:

4. Ravi House – IV Position

The event was a resounding success and truly showcased the participants’ critical thinking and eloquence. 

 

TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

DPS Dwarka participated in the Zonal Table Tennis tournament held at Mount Carmel School, Dwarka on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 in the U – 14 Category. Our girls team won the third position. The team members were:

TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

The following students of DPS Dwarka participated in Inter School Table Tennis Tournament on Saturday, 11 May 2024 held at DDA Sports Complex Yamuna Vihar, Shahdra, Delhi.

• Aashman Singh Chadha of Class VIII secured 1st position in the Junior Boys.
• Eklavya Sharma of Class VII got 3rd position in U-13 Table Tennis Singles.

'DIGEX'

Day/Date: Saturday, 18th May 2024

DPS Dwarka actively participated in the 2024 edition of 'Digex,' a photography festival held at DPS R.K. Puram on Saturday, May 18th. This inter-school event welcomed students from classes IX to XII. Eight students from DPS Dwarka, accompanied by Senior Counsellor Ms. Smritika Saggi, took part in the event.
The event saw involvement from around 50 schools, totaling over 150 participants. Digex included five different competitions: Creadive, Phonescape, Pixelate, Hires, and Camistic. These competitions allowed students to showcase their photography talents, creativity, and storytelling prowess through the lens.
DPS, Dwarka secured the third position in Creadive i.e. the Ad making event. The participants of this event were:

Conclusion:
It was a great opportunity for the students of the Focus club to participate and gain experience from the inter-school event.

ARTHASHASTRA & CONFEST

Day/Date: Friday, 10th May 2024

DPS Vasant Kunj organised its annual -Arthashastra & Confest on 10th May 2024. In the event ‘Adstrat’, Students of class XI from DPS Dwarka secured first position by showcasing their insightful advertising prowess and business acumen by incorporating the scientific techniques of F.W. Taylor.
In another event ‘ Consumer web’ which was an online event, students of class XI from DPS Dwarka secured first position by showcasing their innovative creative skills in web designing while addressing real-world consumer challenges and concerns that not only captivate but also educate and empower users.
The overall winner of the trophy was Modern School, Barakhamba.

INDIAN NATIONAL TRUST FOR ART AND CULTURAL HERITAGE (INTACH)

Students of Delhi Public School, Dwarka, submitted creative write-ups for the ‘Young INTACH’ the newsletter, published quarterly by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). For the quarter of April-June 2024, the organisation invited articles with illustrations and photographs on the theme, 'Grand Gates of India'.

Out of hundreds of participants representing various schools across India, the entry of Alabhya, class XII from DPS Dwarka, found its place among the chosen achievers. The activity demonstrates the importance of recognising and exploring our cultural heritage.

 

INTER DPS QUIZ 2023

In a spirited display of knowledge and competition, DPS Dwarka hosted an Online Inter DPS Quiz 2023 on August 25, 2023. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 36 DPS schools of Zone 5, making it a truly collaborative and engaging experience for students across the region. The event was held under the guidance of Ms. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director DPS Society
The theme for this intellectually charged event was ‘Sports and Fitness in India,’ a subject that not only tested the participants' knowledge of the country's sporting landscape but also highlighted the importance of fitness. The chosen theme provided a platform for students to showcase their understanding of India's rich sporting heritage, the iconic athletes, and the evolving landscape of fitness and wellness along with general awareness quiz as well.
The quiz was organized smoothly by the teachers of DPS Dwarka, who took on the role of proctors, maintaining the integrity and fairness of the competition. Their commitment to upholding the standards of the quiz contributed to the overall success of the event.
The quiz was conducted by the Quiz and General Knowledge Society (QGKS) team, showcasing their expertise in crafting challenging yet thought-provoking questions that spanned various facets of sports and fitness in India.

Out of 109 participants representing various schools, DPS Dwarka students excelled and secured three notable positions in the competition. The specific positions achieved by the students are as follows:
