The much awaited festival – ‘Christmas’ was celebrated by our Pre Schoolers with a Special Assembly on Tuesday, 22 December 2015. The colourful bells, stars, streamers and the brightly decorated Christmas Tree adorned the Pre-School courtyard. The whole courtyard echoed with the Christmas carols and holy hymns. Children looked delighted wearing the Santa Caps as well as carrying surprises in the form of gifts. Overriding every other emotion, a wave of cheer enveloped the school surroundings, spreading the message of faith, happiness and peace..... |

Celebrate! Celebration is an expression of Love and Gratitude....... The students of class IV E conducted a special assembly on the eve of Rakshabandhan on Friday, 28 August 2015. The students presented a Talk Show, signifying the tender bond of love and affection between a brother and a sister. The students narrated a story that depicted the historical importance of Rakshabandhan. It was a beauteous moment with children propounding the traditional values attached with the festival. The assembly culminated with a mellifluous choral recital by the students. |

INDEPENDENCE DAY |

Independence Day is an occasion when every Indian renews his pledge of patriotism to work for the development and prosperity of the country. To mark the 69thIndependence Day, a special assembly was organized by Jhelum House on Friday, 14 August 2015. The students of classes III, IV & V staged a skit and put up a dance performance showcasing the love for the motherland. The melodious patriotic song by the choir further added the zest of patriotism. Tri-colour balloons were released on the occasion by the Principal, Mrs. SunitaTanwar alongwith the students. |

A Special Assembly was conducted by the students of class IV D to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr with devoutness and love. Students presented a Talk Show, highlighting the significance of fasting, offering 'Zakat', and also the scrumptious array of food that is prepared during Eid. They also talked about the various traditional customs and rituals followed by the Muslim community during the celebration of this festival. The message given was that the holy festival of Eid propagates harmony, brotherhood and is marked with celebrations galore |

The Primary Wing of DPS Dwarka celebrated the 66th Republic Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour. A special assembly was presented by the students of Ravi House on Friday, 23 January 2015 to mark the occasion. The assembly commenced with the prayer invoking peace and prosperity. Principal Mrs. Sunita Tanwar, greeted the children on the eve of Republic Day and motivated them to emulate the spirit of our constitution and be the harbingers of a social change to build a new, better and strong India. A soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ by the choir filled the air with patriotism. The joyous occasion witnessed the threads that waft and weave to form the intricate fabric of our constitution which exalts the spirit of democracy amongst every Indian. Thereafter children presented a spectacular talk show which spread awareness about the important duties which each citizen must follow for the smooth functioning of the democracy. Pulsating with rhythm and harmony the stage came alive as students presented a fusion dance - Jai Ho! based on the theme of peace, progress and unity in diversity. Renewing the pledge to serve the motherland, the celebrations came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. |

Joy and gaiety pervaded the atmosphere as the children of Primary Wing celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm and fervour. A Special Assembly was presented by students of class IV E on Tuesday, 24 December 2014. The Principal Mrs. Sunita Tanwar, greeted everyone on the occasion and emphasized on the real meaning of Christmas which lies not merely in celebration but more so in giving, sharing, forgiving and loving. The celebrations began with the Psalms and the singing of the hymns. The significance of the festival was brought about through a recital which was simply ethereal. With a smile on their faces, joy in their hearts and twinkle in their eyes, children narrated the story of birth of Jesus Christ, thus spreading the message of love, joy and peace. Carols and cheers highlighted the true spirit of Christmas bringing in pleasant surprises and joyful moments to cherish always! |

The Primary Wing of DPS Dwarka celebrated Children’s Day with great joy and jubilation. A special assembly was presented by the teachers to mark the occasion. Mrs. Sunita Tanwar Principal, DPS Dwarka greeted all the children on the occasion and urged them to emulate the qualities of Chacha Nehru and all that he stood for. The programme began with the prayer followed by a song and a recital sequence. Children were made aware of the contributions of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru as a national leader and his fondness for children. The continuous applause after each performance exhibited the love of students for their teachers. Capt. Richa Sharma Katyal, Headmistress (Primary Wing) wished the children and blessed them for a bright future! Chocolates were distributed to all the children to mark the celebrations. |

Celebrating the glory of the Supreme and the eternal teachings of Lord Rama, the embodiment of truth and morality, children of Jhelum House presented a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Diwali on Friday, 17 October 2014 The celebrations began with the melodious rendition of devotional songs by the choir. An eloquent narration unfolded the epic tale of mythological and historical significance of Diwali highlighting the legends, beliefs and customs associated with the festival. With narrated stories of nobility, honour, spirituality and benevolence, children captured the theme of good emerging victorious over evil. They also pledged to forgo bursting of crackers and keep the noise pollution levels low. A diya dance symbolizing the spread of light and cheer filled the mystical atmosphere with rhythm and symphony!! |

A beautiful rendition of ‘Maa tujhe salaam’ by the choir lent a celestial aura and filled the air with patriotism. The students paid homage to the supreme sacrifice made by our great freedom fighters with a spectacular and spellbinding talk show. Children brought alive the courage, valor, and the indomitable spirit of our freedom fighters and pledged to lead India towards growth, prosperity and stability. Mrs. Sunita Tanwar, Principal DPS Dwarka released tri-coloured balloons to encapsulate the spirit of freedom. Renewing the pledge to serve the motherland, the celebrations came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem. |

The atmosphere reverberated with the melodious rendition of devotional Sufi songs. The relevance of celebration of Eid festival enthralled one and all. |

DPS Dwarka celebrated Republic Day with great spirit and enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, a special assembly was conducted by the students of the senior and junior school on Thursday, 24 January 2013. |

The assembly commenced with a prayer read out by the school Principal, Ms. Sunita Tanwar followed by the patriotic song ‘Sare Jahan Se Achcha’, a rendition by the school choir. |

The students of junior school recited a medley of poems instilling the feeling of pride and honour for our nation. A skit ‘Bharat Maata – Gantantrata Ki Devi’ staged by the students of senior school, spread awareness about the ten important duties which each citizen of India must follow for the smooth functioning of Democracy. |

To add to the patriotic fervour, tri-coloured balloons were also released. |

A special assembly was organized by Chenab House in order to celebrate the Teachers’ Day on Wednesday, 05 September 2012. Mrs. Sunita Tanwar, the school Principal, greeted all the teachers on the occasion and conveyed the message of Shri Ashok Chandra, Chairman, DPS Dwarka and DPS Society. Thereafter, the students from classes XI and XII conducted the assembly comprising a talk show, a poem and an enthralling medley that praised the optimistic vision of a dedicated teacher.
